Fall Train Rides Return, Parents Pay to Show Kids Trees
Chugga-Chugga-Choochoo | September 19, 2026
CHEHALIS — Fall excursions are returning to the Chehalis-Centralia Railroad as families prepare for the annual tradition of boarding a historic train to observe trees doing exactly what trees outside their homes are also doing.
Parents insist the experience is about creating memories and enjoying the changing seasons.
Children are expected to spend the first ten minutes looking out the window before asking whether the train has Wi-Fi.
By the return trip, parents are expected to have spent roughly $100 proving to their children that trees can, in fact, be viewed from a moving vehicle.
