Country Chicks Market Opens, Decorative Pumpkin Economy Surges
LEWIS COUNTY — The Country Chicks Fall Market is headed to the Southwest Washington Fairgrounds, officially marking the point in the calendar when ordinary pieces of wood become $38 home decorations because someone painted the word “HARVEST” on them.
Shoppers can expect vintage goods, seasonal decorations, handmade items and enough distressed wood to rebuild several barns.
Local husbands attending the event have reportedly been instructed to carry purchases, avoid asking what anything costs and under no circumstances say, “We could make that ourselves.”
Organizers are also reminding shoppers that there is technically no legal limit on the number of small decorative pumpkins one household may own, despite growing concerns from husbands across Lewis County.
