Local Dad Celebrates Plugging HDMI Cable In on First Try
NAPAVINE — A local father celebrated what family members described as “probably the biggest thing he’s done all week” Saturday after successfully plugging an HDMI cable into the back of the television on his first attempt.
Witnesses say the 43-year-old approached the television expecting the customary three-step process of trying the cable upside down, flipping it over, discovering that was somehow also wrong, then returning it to the original position.
Instead, the connector slid directly into the port.
“Holy shit,” the father reportedly whispered before standing up and walking immediately to the refrigerator.
Moments later, he cracked open a Busch Light and drank nearly the entire beer without stopping while staring proudly at the television.
His wife reportedly reminded him that she had asked him to hook up the Roku three weeks ago.
“Doesn't matter,” he replied. “First try.”
At press time, the father had attempted to repeat the feat with a USB cable and was reportedly back down to earth.
