Local Goth Kid Unaffected by White After Labor Day Rule
CENTRALIA — While Americans across the country spent Labor Day quietly wondering whether the decades-old rule about wearing white still applies, one local teenager reportedly entered September completely unaffected.
“Wasn’t planning on it,” the teen said, dressed entirely in black while standing outside a Centralia coffee shop on an 82-degree afternoon.
Fashion experts say the traditional rule discouraging white clothing after Labor Day has faded considerably over the years. This development has apparently had zero impact on the local goth community, which had already eliminated approximately 97% of the visible color spectrum.
The teen’s mother confirmed she recently purchased him a white T-shirt, but it has remained untouched in his dresser for six months.
At press time, he was reportedly looking forward to October, when everyone else finally starts dressing normally.
