LEWIS COUNTY, WA - As another way to combat the current budget crisis, Lewis County has proposed new legislation that will impose steep tariffs on criminals that want to do crime.
"We're tired of these free-loaders committing crimes for free. It's about time that criminals pay their fair share." said a Lewis County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) representative.
The LCSO is also searching for revenue to help heal the wounds caused by the poorly managed budget of last year."Look, we're searching common sense answers to help reduce our deficit, and this just makes sense", the LCSO representative said.
