Lewis County HS Football Roundup — Issue #7

LEWIS COUNTY, WA—Centralia looks to play eight-man, Onalaska keeps feeding the wood chipper, Winlock keeps being Winlock, and Pe Ell-Willapa Valley unleash the Kraken.

Onalaska 54, Asotin 0 — The Loggers turned the field into a sawmill and ran the conveyor nonstop; Ethan Thayer dominated the ground so thoroughly that boosters joked about a new fragrance, “Thayer for Men (notes of fresh sawdust and Panther),” which apparently pairs well with first downs.

North Beach 60, Winlock 14 — The Hyaks caught a wave and never came back to shore, stacking drives like sandcastles at low tide; Winlock flashed some spark, but every time the Cardinals got momentum, North Beach calmly raked it smooth and set up the next score.

Toledo 47, Morton-White Pass 0 — The Riverhawks caged the Timberwolves and swallowed the key; Carter Swofford ripped 211 yards on just eight carries (that’s 26 per pop), while QB Eli Weeks added 108 on only two keepers, an evening best described as “Why tackle angles matter: a live demonstration.”

Pe Ell–Willapa Valley 34, Forks 9 — The Titans throttled the Fishermen with a steady dose of field-position control and a defense that packed more bite than a nor’easter; Forks hauled in a few plays, but PWV’s net kept tightening until the clock reeled the game in.

Napavine 34, Ilwaco 7 — The Tigers toppled Ilwaco behind a monster night from Von Pressentin, who cruised past 300 rushing yards and added two scores; by the fourth quarter the safest place on the field was anywhere he wasn’t running next.

WF West (a lot) vs. Centralia (not enough) — Exact math aside, the Bearcats had it rolling early and often; Centralia is reportedly workshopping new looks and tempo tweaks for next week—proof that hope is a game plan as long as the film room lights are still on.
