After First Round At Riverside, Dad Explains To Son How A 120 Score Basically Makes Him Pro

CHEHALIS, WA — Following a rugged opening round at Riverside Golf Course, local dad Brian Hensley was seen giving his son a detailed breakdown of how shooting a 120 is “actually extremely respectable for Riverside” and, under the right circumstances, “basically professional golf.”

Witnesses say Hensley’s round included three balls donated to the water, multiple emergency wedge recoveries, and at least one putt that “had the right idea.” Still, while riding between holes, the determined father reportedly assured his son that Riverside “plays tougher than people think” and that a 120 there “would probably be like a 68 somewhere easier.”

“See, buddy, golf isn’t really about the number,” Hensley said, moments after enthusiastically circling an 8 and calling it “more of a confident double par.” “It’s about course management, mental toughness, and knowing when to stop counting once you’re in the tree line.”

Hensley was expected to return to Riverside next weekend to prove his score was a fluke, only to once again explain on the ride home that he is “honestly closer to scratch than the card shows.”
