GoFundMe launched for Napavine potholes after residents realize tax dollars may not be enough

NAPAVINE, WA — A local GoFundMe has reportedly been launched to help repair potholes around Napavine after residents began wondering whether public road money had simply moved on to other priorities. Supporters of the fundraiser say the effort was inspired by familiar trouble spots, including the potholes in front of City Hall, along Washington Street, on Rush Road, and near the Exit 72 intersection.
Residents say the fundraiser started as a joke, but quickly gained traction among drivers who are tired of dodging rough patches on their daily commute. Several locals noted that the same potholes have become regular conversation topics, especially for anyone trying to get through town without feeling like their vehicle just lost an argument with the pavement.
“We figured if we can’t count on the roads getting fixed anytime soon, maybe the internet can help,” one resident said. The fundraiser, titled “Fill These Holes Since Apparently We Already Filled The Budget,” has reportedly drawn interest from drivers, business owners, and anyone who has recently paid for an alignment. At press time, city officials were said to be aware of the fundraiser and were expected to respond just as soon as they completed a careful review of the situation, the budget, and whether the potholes could somehow survive one more season.
