Centralia Halloween Parade Allows Residents to Dress Strangely on Purpose for Once

CENTRALIA — Downtown Centralia will celebrate Halloween Saturday with the annual Fall Festival and Halloween Parade, temporarily making costumes, masks and unusual behavior completely normal.

Families are expected to fill downtown streets with superheroes, witches, monsters and children demanding candy from complete strangers under adult supervision.

Local businesses will participate in the festivities while parents perform the traditional post-Halloween safety inspection known as “taking all the Reese’s.”

By Sunday morning, Centralia will return to its regular schedule of people dressing strangely without receiving candy for it.
